Another Trip to Badbury Rings

This afternoon I had a couple of hours walking round Badbury Rings and Oak Wood before picking my son up from school on the way home. Oak Wood is a ancient woodland planted  around about the 14th century and was pollarded to produce timber, and on the eastern side of the wood is a Roman road. Unfortunately at the moment you are only allowed to walk round the edge of the wood as there are some type of old cattle grazing in the wood.

Cattle that graze the Oaks

Since the last visit to Badury Rings I have been few times  to look for birds and to see what I could find.  I am hoping one day that I will find a Little Owl around the farm.
There are some very nice views across the Dorset country side .
